Logbook servicing that keeps your warranty intact

New and used cars, all makes and models, serviced to the book by qualified mechanics.

Logbook servicing for new and used cars

We do new and used car logbook servicing while the car is under warranty, all makes and models. Your book sets out what has to be done and when, and we work to it. Anything on top of that is quoted first.

Keep your new car warranty 100% intact, without the dealership price tag. Our qualified mechanics carry out logbook servicing to the manufacturer's exact specifications, using high-quality or genuine parts and approved oils. We stamp your logbook and reset your service reminder.

Signs your car is due for a logbook service

  • The service reminder is up on the dash, or the windscreen sticker has passed its date
  • The odometer has gone past the kilometres your logbook sets for the next service
  • Twelve months have gone by without a stamp, even if the car has barely moved
  • There's a blank page in the book where a stamp should be
  • You're selling the car and the buyer will want to see the history

What a logbook service involves

A logbook service follows the schedule the manufacturer set for your car at that age and that many kilometres, so no two lists are the same. Engine oil and the oil filter, fluid levels, tyres, brakes, lights and a look underneath come up every time. Spark plugs, filters, brake fluid and coolant sit on their own intervals and get done at the service they fall due.

The rest of the value is in having the car off the ground: belts, hoses, leaks, bushes, and what's left on the pads and tyres. Find something heading for trouble and you get told what it is and what it would take to put right.

Parts, oil and lubricants satisfy the manufacturer's standards and have never been used before.

What the ACCC says about servicing away from the dealer

Servicing outside the dealership does not void a new car's warranty, as long as three conditions are met. This is extracted from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's Consumer Express, April 2005, Issue 1445-9671.

Qualified staff

Someone other than an authorised dealer who is capable of servicing the car. Some workshops display their certificates; if you're not sure, ask.

Manufacturer's specifications

Dealers are entitled to insist the servicing is done to the manufacturer's specifications. If an independent agent says it can meet them and then doesn't, you have rights against that agent.

Genuine or appropriate quality parts

The test is whether the part is fit for the purpose intended, not who manufactured it. An interchangeable non-genuine part can be appropriate and would not void the warranty.

New vehicle warranty

A fault covered by the warranty itself goes back to the dealer and should be repaired free of charge. Servicing is the part you’re free to shop around on.

Logbook servicing and your pink slip

If your rego falls due around the same time, say so when you ring. Our system can track when your registration is due, so the eSafety check can be scheduled into the same visit. The pink slip page has the fees the state sets.

What to tell us when you book

Have the logbook with you, and tell us the make, model, year and roughly what the odometer reads. If the car has been doing something the book doesn't cover, a noise, a warning light, a smell, a pull to one side, say so and we'll look while it's here. Repairs are quoted on their own; there's more on mechanical repairs.

Questions about logbook servicing

Do I have to service at the dealer to keep my warranty?

No. The extract above sets out the conditions: qualified staff, the manufacturer's specifications, and genuine or appropriate quality parts. Meet those and the warranty stands wherever the car is serviced.

What if my car has no logbook?

Ring us with the make, model, year and kilometres and we'll work out what it's due for.

Do you service hybrids and electric cars?

Yes. There's more about those on the hybrid and electric page.

Can the pink slip be done at the same visit?

Yes, if the rego is due. Say so when you book and the eSafety check goes into the same visit.

All work performed and new parts used are guaranteed.
